LAES Improves Fluency with Soliloquy
Lake Alfred Elementary School (LAES) in Florida has implemented Soliloquy Reading Assistant (SRA) from Soliloquy Learning to help improve reading fluency for the special needs students in its Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program.

Lamar County Deploys Reading Intervention
The Lamar County School District in Mississippi has deployed Scientific Learning Corp.'s reading intervention, Fast ForWord. Fast ForWord is a family of digital learning tools designed to develop "the neurocognitive skills required to read and learn effectively." It's targeted toward students who are characterized as struggling learners.

NC High School Implements Classworks for Remediation
South View High School in North Carolina has implemented Classworks for remediation in core subject testing. Nearby Hoke County School District is also implementing Classworks in seven elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one early college.

Pennsylvania DOE Adopts Real-Time Collaboration Tools
The Pennsylvania Department of Education will implement new real-time collaboration capabilities using LiveAccess from Vemics Inc., a developer of collaboration and learning tools. Live Access combines multipoint video, voice, and data technologies with content, consulting, and customer support.

Merit Debuts ELL Programs
Educational software publisher Merit Software has expanded its line of programs for English Language Learners with the launch of Essential English Fitness and Picture Context Reader. The two new programs are designed for "high beginning" and "low intermediate" ELL students, targeting grammar and reading fundamentals.
