Mitsubishi Debuts XD95U 'Pico' Projector

Mitsubishi has introduced its new XD95U, a "pico" projector that weighs in at 3.3 pounds and measures 7.5"(W) x 3.1" (H) x 8.1" (D).

The single-chip DLP-based XD95U offers an XGA resolution (1,024 x 768), a brightness of 2,200 ANSI lumens, and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1, according to Mitsubishi. Other features include:

  • 3,000-hour lamp life in economy mode;
  • RS-232 communication support;
  • Support for video resolutions up to 1080i; and
  • A six-segment, 0.55" DDP2230 chip.

Inputs include an S-video port, a composite (RCA) jack, and a Mini D-sub 15-pin VGA port.

The XD95U is expected to be available this month for $1,495, including a three-year limited warranty on parts and labor a 90-day limited warranty on the lamp.
