K-12 Online School Adopts Angel LMS
Internet Academy, an online K-12 public school (the first in Washington), has adopted the Angel Learning Management Suite to replace its previous system, which had been developed internally. The school cited the need for enhanced collaborative capabilities, standards alignment, student progress tracking, and automated communications as major reasons for the switch.
"We were exploring other systems when we found Angel," said Ron Mayberry, principal of the Internet Academy, in a statement released Thursday. "We chose Angel because Angel provided the most features at the best price. The tools Angel provides to align State standards to class curriculum, track student progress, automate communications based on progress, and report results will help us meet State requirements."
Angel LMS is a learning management system designed for both K-12 and higher ed that incorporates course management, learning outcomes management, podcasting, and assessment capabilities.
Internet Academy provides education for Washington residents free in most cases and serves both full- and part-time students, offering remediation, credit recovery, services for homeschooled students, and support for special needs students.
