PBS TeacherLine Releases New Peer Connection
PBS TeacherLine has upgraded its PBS TeacherLine Peer Connection in an effort to expand professional development resources for instructional coaches and teachers. The new version includes additional professional development modules and enhancements to the UI.
Peer Connection allows instructional coaches to create professional development programs for online, blended, or in person instruction. It includes tips for working with adult learners and supplies a library of resources and strategies for helping teachers to accomplish professional development goals, with a particular emphasis on K-12 math, reading, and instructional technology. Resources called "Coaching Modules" incorporate theoretical and practical information to support teacher learning, as well as media from TeacherLine's online courses.
For the upgraded version of Peer Connection, PBS has added eight new modules for coaches and mentors focused on data-driven instruction, differentiated instruction, and topics covering ways in which coaches can facilitate discussions on various topics. PBS said 40 more modules are also in development.
The relaunched Peer Connection also includes improved navigation and UI enhancements and a new feature that allows users to attach documents to announcements and forum posts.
