Utah Adopts DigitalSAMS for Statewide Student Data System

Bookmark and Share

Utah will be rolling out a new student data management and achievement system statewide--the first such statewide deployment of its kind. The Utah State Office of Education has signed on with DigitalBridge for a system called DigitalSAMS, which will be made available to some 40 Utah school districts and 96 charter schools, as well as the Office of Education itself.

The system has already been deployed in 13 school districts in the state as part of an effort to manage achievement information and performance measurement.

"Utah is very pleased to partner with DigitalBridge to provide transparent data to parents, teachers, and students," said Patti Harrington, state superintendent of public instruction, in a prepared statement. "Utah's existing data system has been a leader in the nation, but lacked a statewide portal by which to empower parents and teachers as they make daily instructional decisions. DigitalSAMS will now provide that portal and will enrich both the display and comparability of the data as well as ensure that the data is accessible and useful. We are very happy to work with DigitalBridge in our relentless pursuit of academic excellence for every child in Utah."

Organizations helping with the implementation of the system include Chartwell Education Group, IBM, Red Cedar Solutions Group, ProActive School, the National Transcript Center, and Docufide.
