Sarasota County SD Ramps Up Video Surveillance
Sarasota County School District in Florida is expanding its video surveillance program, bringing the total number of installed cameras to more than 2,500, according to GVI Security Solutions, Samsung's security technology master distributor.
In addition to cameras, the deployment includes Samsung 40-inch LCD security monitors for the district, as well as a new project at Sarasota's Suncoast Polytechnical High School, which includes Samsung color dome cameras and 17-inch LCD monitors.
Southeast Security Products, Pompano Beach, FL, a GVI Samsung partner, handled the project.
Sarasota County School District serves about 42,000 K-12 students in 51 schools in addition to about 17,500 adult education students. It employs 5,617 staff and teachers and has a total budget of $671 million (2006-2007).
