Pittsburgh Public Schools Adopts Special Ed Management and Tracking
Pittsburgh Public Schools will use Spectrum K12 School Solutions' special education IEP software product Encore to create a system of administrative reporting and tracking for students who need special services throughout the district.
The largest of 43 school districts in Allegheny County and second largest in Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Public Schools serves 28,265 students in kindergarten through 12th grade in 65 schools. Until now, Pittsburgh Public Schools had been primarily paper-based and entering special education IEP and reporting data by hand.
The new software will provide the district with a real-time system for improving special education management and streamlining operations. The system will also promote accountability, ensure compliance with federal and state mandates, and allow staff members to access data and information remotely, according to the district.
