Nova Learning Alliance Debuts at NECC

At this week's 2007 National Educational Computing Conference (NECC), a number of technology developers joined together to form a new group called the Nova Learning Alliance, an international consortium whose stated goal is to provide "affordable computer access to every student" and "to provide an environment where member organizations can work together to foster the continuing development of technology that will provide each child an affordable computing solution."

The Nova Learning Alliance so far includes Fourier Systems, GoKnow Learning, MathResources, Inspiration, Thinkronize, LearnStar, and LanSchool. According to the group, the Alliance will (quoted from a published statement by the group):

  • Promote of 21st century skills for every child;
  • Provide professional development opportunities to support technology integration across the curriculum;
  • Offer site-based training and assistance to educators at consortium schools; and
  • Provide workshops related to the Nova Learning Alliance.

"The Nova Learning Alliance serves as a catalyst to encourage other technology innovators, in addition to those already participating, to develop products and services that meet these goals," said Brenda Raker, CEO of Fourier Systems U.S.

The Alliance will also will offer resources to educational institutions around the world. More information can be obtained through Fourier Systems at the link below.
