C.W. PUBLICATIONS, a developer of educational software, is introducing On Your Own Coast-to-Coast, a program to help students learn about the costs of independent living. Some of the skills covered in the simulated three-month period are job hunting, opening a bank account, using credit, paying bills, saving and investing, renting an apartment, activating utilities, and buying insurance. Expenses vary depending on which city a student chooses to settle in, and the simulation is different every time the program is run. A supplemental CD provides teachers with lesson plans and tools for assessment. Price: $79 for a single license.
