District-Vendor Partnerships

MASSACHUSETTS DOE SELECTS VIDERE

Videre Conferencing (www.videreconferencing.com) has been awarded a blanket contract by the Massachusetts Department of Education’s prime contractor, City Lights Electrical Co. Inc. (www.citylightselectrical.com), to provide videoconferencing equipment and related services for the System for Adult Basic Education Support (www.sabes.org). SABES is a comprehensive training and technical assistance initiative for educators and programs. Videre has been integral in connecting SABES’ 11 satellite locations to the Massachusetts Information Turnpike Initiative (MITI; www.umass-miti.net), a fiberoptic network that links the state and community college systems. A Tandberg (www.tandberg.net) gateway enables seamless integration between MITI’s IP and SABES’ ISDN network. SABES now has access to broadcast-quality audio and video transmissions of credit courses, workshops, and continuing-education efforts at all of its locations. A full-service organization that manages all aspects of its projects, Videre has completed conferencing projects for the University of Massachusetts Medical School, UMassOnline, the Massachusetts DoE, and Boston College High School (MA).
