Microsoft Releases Four New Academic Products

Microsoft Corp.Microsoft Student 2006 (www.microsoft.com/education) has released four new academic-specific products, all available in time for the new school year: Learning Essentials for Microsoft Office, Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit for Windows XP, Microsoft Student 2006, and Microsoft Encarta Academic Online. Learning Essentials, which runs atop any version of Office XP or 2003, gives students and teachers a customized Office environment with tools to help them start and complete assignments more effectively and intuitively. The Shared Computer Toolkit is a powerful combination of software tools and documentation that help optimize and reduce the total cost of owning and operating Windows XP-based computers in shared environments such as school libraries and computer labs. Microsoft Student 2006 guides junior high and high school students through the learning process by offering subject-specific homework tools, such as graphing calculator software and the Learning Essentials program. Finally, Microsoft’s Encarta Academic Online gives every student one-click access to Encarta reference content in seven languages for 11 countries. All of the products, excluding the Toolkit, are available for Academic Volume Licensing.
