Mobile Classroom Awarded to Ohio Elementary School

Paulding Elementary School in Pauldin, OH, beat more than 700 entries to win first place in the “Celebrate Your Success” essay contest sponsored by Hewlett-Packard (www.hp.com) and Riverdeep (www.riverdeep.net). The elementary school was honored for its innovative use of classroom technology with a $45,000 one-to-one computing award. This includes a 20-user HP Tablet PC mobile classroom with digital projector and wireless access, Riverdeep’s Destination Success Network Version software, and three days of on-site professional development. Educators applied for the awards by documenting their use of technology in the classroom. Ultimately, the awards program seeks to improve students’ engagement with reading, and form positive attitudes toward technology to promote lifelong learning.
