Online Newspaper Caters to Beginning Readers, Special Ed Students

News-2-You (www.news-2-you.com) is a weekly online newspaper for beginning readers and special education students. It exposes them to current events in an easy-to-read format while simultaneously building their vocabulary skills. The idea behind News-2-You is that a curriculum which incorporates current events will enhance the communicative skills, build self-confidence and increase social interaction among the students. Besides current events, each edition includes simple recipes, jokes, games, and a coloring and crossword puzzle page. In addition, the online newspaper has recently added the "Higher Level Edition," which is designed to be a more challenging version of the newspaper with less icons and more text. News-2-You runs the entire school year, and is available in single- or multiple-user subscriptions.
